Despite the abuse of what looks like a very nice tie, I like this image. I know it is a posed fashion shot, but his expression captures an element of what makes a great scene. It’s that sense of abandonment and giving oneself to the moment. That point where everything goes slack and you just relax into the dynamic. I don’t believe that’s what’s actually happening here, but it still makes me want to play again.
This was shot by the Polish Photographer Andrzej Tyszko.
According to Oscar Wilde everything in life is about sex; except sex itself. Sex itself is about power; subtle and sometimes not so subtle power dynamics, power games and power shifts. And in order to enjoy, you have to let go. You have to let yourself go and surrender. The Germans have a lovely word for it: “Hingabe”. Gabe means gift; related to giving. The giving of (your)self. And that takes a lot of courage and a lot of trust.
And that’s exactly what the look on his face conveys. Brilliant picture, good actors … and one very ugly tie put to good use.
Interesting word ‘hingabe’. From my quick search some English synonyms include commitment, devotion, addiction, surrender and abandonment. So yes, it does seem very suitable both to this photograph and D/s in general.
Personally I like the tie, but this is definitely a good use of it regardless š
