See if you can spot the problem between the title of this article and the data presented. Apparently the author, Amanda Chatel, can’t tell the difference between an absolute value (as implied by the title) and a relative value (as measured by the survey). Based on this approach, a town than went from 1 to 2 kinky people would be kinkier than a town that went from 1000 to 1500 kinky people. I know most journalists find anything beyond grade school mathematics confusing (see any recent mainstream economics discussion for proof of that), but this is pretty poor even by their conventional low standards.
Personally if I had to pick the kinkiest town in the US, it would be between San Francisco and New York. Given that SF is considerably smaller, it would probably get the nod based on a percentage of population estimate. With that in mind, I’ll finish with a shot of San Francisco’s own Vinyl Queen. This image is from her tumblr and features tickle torture. That’s a love/hate activity for me. I often think about putting it on my hard limits list, but I do perversely enjoy the fact that many dommes seem to love tormenting me with it.
Should you wish to be tickled or otherwise tormented by Vinyl Queen, her professional site is here
Sorry this has nothing to do with the article, but I find that photo to be really, really funny (in a good way). It looks like your suburban Barbeque-loving, lawnmower-riding mom-and-dad across the street getting their kink on. That dude’s awesome mustache cracks me up!
Tickling is fun, but it really is an ODD fetish. The dudes that love it, LOVE IT.
I’m going to show this photo to the girls at the dungeon today. What a hoot!
I liked the photograph a lot for the expressions on their faces. As you say, he has got an awesome mustache, and it doesn’t look like a conventional femdom shot. VQ has a got a fine collection of images and thoughts on her tumblr.
As for tickling, I really don’t like it. Particularly because it often gets used when I’m in some weird predicament bondage, frequently involving needles and cords. But every domme I’ve played with has loved discovering the effect is has on me, so I leave it on table just for the energy it can bring to a scene. As a fetish in itself, I can see how it’d work, but it’s not for me!

Glad to see that VQ is still around. I remember running across her website, maybe 15 or more years ago. OMG, that was back when the MaxFisch website was like, the ultimate go-to source for femdom stuff.
Max just revamped his site in the last few weeks, or at least the forum part of it. It’s actually showing a few signs of returning to it’s former glory, or at least better than it has been for the last few years.
I’m kind of surprised to see you refer to it however. It has always had a fairly heavy pro-domme theme, and I’ve never got the impression that was ever an area you overlapped with.

I hope MaxFisch gets HUGE again!
It was/is so, so, SO much better than any “sex worker/provider review board.” I hate TER and don’t allow reviews (it is very escort-centric, but fetish workers do get reviewed there on occasion), but I never had a problem with MaxFisch.
