Yeah, I agree. That’s why I mentioned the historical figure, although I probably should have added ‘mythological’ into that as well! I was almost tempted to crop it out and see if Google image search could find it, but I don’t think there algorithms are that good!

I actually did that – I was curious so I put it through Tin Eye just in case (the things you find yourself doing on the net!), but it didn’t come up with anything.
I admire your dedication to research! I think those algorithms are pretty good spotting modified versions of a single image, but less good about understanding what an image represents in a more abstract sense. I’m going to keep an eye out though for that face and expression, because it is bugging me slightly 🙂
