Gibbet Cage

This is one of the more interesting and abstract BDSM images I’ve stumbled across recently.  I think he’s in what’s technically known as a Gibbet Cage. They were used to publicly display the body of executed criminals after death. Which seems a little pointless, as they were hardly going to escape at that point. I guess deterrence to others was the principal idea.

While they’re striking pieces of equipment, they’re not all that common in playspaces. Probably because it’d be tough to cater to all the different body shapes and sizes necessary. Modern kinksters are a bit fussier about their comfort than your average dead criminal from the 17th Century.

I’m not sure who the domme is, but she’s certainly beautiful and and imposing. The lighting of the shiny latex and metal makes for a great image.

If you can help me attribute this then please let me know via a comment.

On the Ladder

This original bondage set-up comes courtesy of Domina Dia Dynasty. I’ve not  seen a ladder used quite like that before.

The vulnerability of the position is appealing, but I think I’d struggle with the stress position and predicament aspect of it. Be tough to relax into the bondage without a lot more rope in support.

You can find more from Dia Dynasty on her professional site and her Bluesky account.

Index of Consensual Sexual Sadism

There’s a new way to measure just how sadistic you or your domme is: The  Index of Consensual Sexual Sadism. According to this article in the PsyPost it’s a tool designed to measure sadism in the context of consensual relationships, rather than the more pathological and destructive sadism inflicted non-consensually.

While teasing those two manifestations apart seems a worthy one, there is some bad news in the early findings…

One surprising finding was how consensual sexual sadism was related to marginally worse romantic relationship satisfaction,” Kinrade said. “This suggests that although these tendencies may be practiced consensually, they may nevertheless negatively impact satisfaction in romantic relationships or coincide with other behavioral tendencies that reduce romantic relationship satisfaction.

I don’t think they’ve enough data to say why that is, but I’d speculate that it could simply be due to the difficulty in finding compatible partners. Aligning kinks can be tricky. If your pool of suitable partners is smaller then that is likely to lead to less satisfaction, particularly if you’re not overtly selecting for that kink.

My biggest problem with the article is the picture they chose for the top. It looks less like a sadist in action and more like someone who has just been given a gag gift for a hen night. They need something a little more along the lines of this image.

Pony and Rider

Continuing the vintage artwork theme here, but moving from dogs to ponies. This is by the German artist Richard Hegemann. According to this honesterotica article he was active in Berlin in the 1920’s through to the 40’s as a painter, sculpture and professor of art. From what I can find online, he created his kinky illustrations for himself and friends. I can’t imagine the authorities in 1930’s Germany would have been particularly accepting of this kind of art.

L´homme chien

We’re going back just over a century for today’s artwork. This is a book cover from 1906, illustrated by Raphael Kirchner. I couldn’t find much out about the book, other than what Mistress Ezada Sinn had to say in a blog post back in 2015. Apparently it was written by Pierre Dumarchey and republished under the title ‘La Comtesse au Fouet‘ with far less interesting cover art.

I love the character expressions here. With his mustache and hangdog expression he looks particularly dog like. She’s carrying a whip, but a rolled up newspaper might be more appropriate.

Fork, Shoe and Candle

This short but very sexy film by Contessa Klaudia Keys caught my eye today. It features all the implements of the title deployed to great effect on a bound man. I love the fact it manages to be minimal and very sensual all at the same time. You can find it on her instagram and (unfortunately) her Twitter.

In the Park

Here’s one of the better examples of AI art I’ve seen recently. I actually didn’t think it was AI until I traced it back to the original source – this post by Dora TV.

The common problems of AI generated scenes – wonky backgrounds and oddly shaped fingers/toes – don’t appear to be present. It’s very coherent. The only thing that’s off is her handbag strap, which seems to vanish under her arm. The low part of the left lamppost also looks a bit odd, although that’s minor. Impressive stuff.
