Real or fetish?

When it comes to medical play it’s sometimes hard to tell the fantasy from the reality. Some people invest a lot of money into creating a realistic experience. Presumably at some point, when you’ve got a playspace that’s as well equipped as the average surgical center, there really isn’t much difference.

I originally stumbled across this image on a femdom tumblr and assumed it was a medical fetish shot. In that context and with her pose, that seemed the most likely thing. Then I looked at it some more and thought that it actually could just be a regular medical shot. After all the equipment looks pretty serious and she doesn’t have the usual fetishistic nurse outfit. Some hunting around got me to a medical fetish site that currently appears to be dormant. So it actually is femdom, but I wouldn’t have been too surprised to end up at a medical equipment catalogue. I always admire the dedication of people who invest this level of effort and detail into realizing a particular fetish.

  1. Speaking personally, Medical Scenes have never held any interest for me because the emotions they bring with them are all very ‘serious’, even alarming.
Medical treatment in the real world is often provided to deal with pain. The pain from tattooing or from impact play can be challenging but is always interesting whereas pain from dentistry is always unpleasant and frightening.
This is definitely a fetish shot because:
    1. The nurse is apparently in a sterile gown with her sleeves tucked into the gloves (as they should be) but she is holding a non-sterile item and leaning on a non sterile surface.
    2. Nothing else in shot is covered with sterile drapes.
    3. Her surgical gloves are too large.
    4. Her gown is fabric whereas most sterile gowns are now made of paper and are disposable, for cross infection control reasons.

    1. You have a better eye for these things than I do! I didn’t spot any of that, although if I’d had to be money (prior to finding the original fetish site it was from), I’d have probably gone with the fetish angle.

I don’t really find the idea of roleplaying a proper medical scene all that exciting, for similar reasons to you. But I do like a lot of the equipment and process that comes with medical play. Test subject to slightly twisted scientist might be more my angle šŸ™‚

  2. The logo in the top right hand corner says: Copyright c 2000 Institut Doran(?) Germany.
Googled it, with variations on Doran. Found quite a lot of physics institutes in Germany and physicists all over the map of Europe; but no references to femdm practises or sites.
