The Warrior Princess

I’ve always had a bit of a thing for Katherine Hepburn ever since seeing her in the African Queen as a young boy. Much as I enjoyed watching Bogart as the cranky captain, it was the spunky and bossy Hepburn character that really caught my eye. Much like the late great Lauren Bacall in her movies opposite Bogart.

This image is Katharine Hepburn as Amazon warrior princess Antiope in a stage production of The Warrior’s Husband (1932). The set might look a little shoddy, and their shin guards fake, but her pose and body language is all kinds of hotness. The lucky man whose hair she’s grabbing is Colin Keith-Johnston.

  1. Re your yen for Katherine Hepburn
I believe Ingrid Bergmans career advice to her daughter Isabella Rosselini was “ learn your lines and keep a straight face”
    Suitable for a domme .?

    1. That’s a good quote. Although I think it’s only partially applicable to a domme. Personally I like my domme to be laughing and making it up as she goes along. But there’s definitely a big market for those with a serious look and a well thought out plan 🙂

And of course both Ingrid Bergman and Isabella Rossellini were wonderful actresses as well.

  2. Cate Blanchett did a half way reasonable job of playing Hepburn in “The Aviator” but didn’t get near to this level of hotness if I recall. My personal vote would go to Bacall every time. Watched Bacall in”The Big Sleep” and the the 1978 remake with Sarah Miles playing the same part recently and while Miles might inspire a sense of trepidation (will she forget the whole “safeword” idea????), Bacall still wins in the hotness stakes for me…
