I’m moving on from C S Lewis, but sticking with kinky button pushing moments from childhood. This image is Valerie Leon with Peter Sellers from the movie ‘Revenge of the Pink Panther‘.
The original scene – viewable on youtube here – now comes across as horribly dated. It leans into all sorts of uncomfortable stereotypes. However, back when I first saw it in the mid 80’s, it was my first awareness of the dominatrix role. There were plenty of screen characters who’d pushed my buttons already (likeĀ Catwoman and Miss Peel), but nothing as sexually overt as Valerie Leon’s role here. For all its cliches, it helped me connect some of the dots around sex and kink. This whip wielding dominatrix might be played for laughs, but the fact that type of character actually existed was a big part of putting together my kinky puzzle.
I saw this in the theater as an older teen, and like Catwoman and Mrs Peel, it made me feel all squirmy inside.
I remember being aware that Clouseau in a dress was not necessarily equated with the “d0mme in a tricks*”, but I was certainly not complaining.
Edit: * actual word kicked me out again.
I had the same squirmy response, but I was watching it on TV with my parents. Which was more than a little uncomfortable. I had to do that casual laughing thing while desperately trying to fix every moment into my brain without looking weird š

I saw this on TV in the late 70s and was absolutely mesmorized by it; to a point where I couldn’t seem to function for a few minutes. Valerie Leon was something else, absolutely devastating with what later on to me always seemed like a touch of the Domina about her in so many of her roles.
Thanks for posting.
Yeah – I’m guessing it short circuited the brains of a lot of young submissives-to-be :-).
Thanks for stopping by!
