The Gag Shop

It feels like cheating to simply re-post stories from other blogs that I link to. After all, if you follow my blog roll, you’ll have already seen the original post. I fear the God’s of blogging may punish me with a corrupted database or a particularly efficient and annoying comment spammer. However, this particular story is too good not to re-post.

The story starts with a drawing by Anmo Night entitle ‘The Gag Shop’. The title is pretty self-explanatory for the drawing itself. That in turn inspired Sardax to create a sequence of images based around mistresses visiting the shop. In a cascade of inspiration particles (I blame the Hadron Collider) this in turn spurred a quartet of famous dommes to re-create his images in reality. You can read more on slave pj’s blog and on the blogs of the dommes involved: Madame Catarina, Mistress Akella, Mistress Ezada Sinn and Lady Victoria Valente.

I love the fact that people took the time and energy to put this together. Maybe we could use it to start a trend for re-creating more of Sardax’s work? That’d make for some fun scene negotiations. For my next session I wonder where I can find a glass coffin, a small castle and seven naked dwarfs?

SPH

It’s not exactly surprising to come across online articles on sex and fetishes. The internet has many corner and niches stuffed with this material. What does surprise me is how often these articles are making there way onto more mainstream sites. I’m also frequently surprised by the quality of the articles. They’re obviously after clicks and eyeballs, but many of them take the subject seriously rather than playing it for a joke.

Take for example this Gawker peice on Small Penis Humiliation (SPH). The link to it originally caught my eye from a side bar on a random auto site I was scanning with my first coffee of the day. I didn’t expect to end up reading a lengthy article talking about cuckolding, submission and penises stuffed into toilet rolls in a break between my first few meetings. It’s not a fetish of mine, but I’m always happy to see more sensible articles on kinks pop up. Even the comments weren’t too bad, which is something of a miracle in itself.

I’m afraid I don’t know where this artwork is from. If I was guessing I’d say it’s a trimmed version of a cartoon from a old fashion adult magazine. Unfortunately a reverse image search doesn’t lead me to anything.

Feeling happy

I played with Lydia tonight. Much bondage, breathplay, nipple torture, hot wax and flogging was involved. It was the kind of play that gets me spacey almost immediately. The kind where I can channel the pain through a sense of shared connection. The kind where it hurts but feels so good and so right.

Right now all I want to do is collapse on the couch and drink wine, so this post will be short. I’ll simply share an image that captures an element of what play can be. There was no rope bondage in my case (although lots of leather belts and plastic wrap) but this has that sense of tension and connection that means so much to me.

Hommage

I find it slightly disturbing when I make connections between femdom artists, photographers or performers. Being an expert on pre-raphaelite painting or the films of Ingmar Bergman (for example) would typically be seen a source of pride. Recognizing a particular pro-domme from a random tumblr photograph, knowing the dungeon it was taken in and figuring out the publisher from the style of shot, is a somewhat less marketable skill.

The artwork below is entitled ‘Her Kinky Wishes‘ and is by ashfaq-ayon. It’s a lovely drawing, but on seeing it I immediately recognized the inspiration of Rodzo’s work. It’s a very different artistic style, but the composition, text and set-up is pure Rodzo. I like it a lot, although I think the more realistic style makes the male posture look even more impossible than in the original inspiration.

Cupping

I’ve often heard people comment with pleasure on the marks they receive during kinky play. They appreciate them as a memento of their play and can be disappointed if they fade to quickly. For anyone who likes heavy marks but doesn’t want to take the kind of heavy beating necessary to get them, I would suggest giving cupping a go. Originally a form of medical treatment (of dubious value), it has also been repurposed for kink. I’ve only tried it a couple of times, but both times I ended up with some really long lasting bruises.

Pleasure & Pain

The post title sounds like a lead into something seriously kinky and sexual, but in fact it’s taken from a mainstream exhibition running at the Victoria & Albert Museum – ‘Shoes: Pleasure & Pain‘. There’s a good article on it over at the Guardian, which talks about the history of shoes, and how they’ve been intertwined with culture, fashion, sex and fetishism. This particularly bit made me smile…

For a few decades in the middle of the 17th century, there was a fashion for ladies’ indoor shoes to come attached to a flat panel, which joined the bottom of the high heel to the toe. Not only did this lift the wearer above imaginary dirt and clod-hopping Puritans, it also provided a satisfying sound as the shoe made contact with the floor. Soon that flat-footed slap, which could be heard several beats before the wearer entered the room, became the mark of real lady.

I don’t particularly fetishize footwear, but I can still appreciate the the click of a heel and the sound of a strutting boot on a hard floor. It’s a pretty effective mood setter, particularly when someone is tied down and can’t easily turn to see what’s happening. I often find myself smiling at the cliche of it, but enjoying it all the same.

Nantaimori

Here’s some sushi to finish our tasting menu of food related posts. I’ve seen plenty of articles about eating sushi off naked women, but never anything on using naked men. Apparently it does exist and even has its own name – Nantaimori. Never let it be said this blog isn’t educational.

Strawberries and bottoms

Strawberries and cream is a classic English summertime dessert. It’s most famously served at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, where they get through about 23 tons of the berries. However, even at their most hedonistic, I doubt that the All England Club has ever served its signature fruit quite like this.

I’m normally a fan of interesting predicament bondage combined with service scenarios. Yet somehow the idea of a butt plug based tray for serving fruit seems a little off. I’m sure it’s perfectly hygienic, and it’s not like providing food to people requires servers to leave their assholes at home. I just think the butt plugs and finger food are two things that could probably live happily apart. Call me old fashioned like that.

I’m afraid that despite my best research efforts, I’ve no idea where this shot is from.

Gingering it up

Continuing a food theme (sort of) I also liked this munchies article on figging. While I consider myself a bit of a kinky omnivore, I do have a problem with figging. I like in ginger in my food and in my drinks, but not so much up my butt. There’s nothing sexy about a dodgy curry (unless you’ve got a really specialized kink involving cheap larger and flock wallpaper) and that’s what figging always puts me in mind of. However, the article almost sells me on the idea of trying it again. Almost.

Kinky Cookery

Regular readers may be aware that three things I love are food, drink and kink. Typically it’s the first two that go naturally together, but I was very happy to stumble across a blog that combines the first with the last. It’s written by a Mistress Blunt who describes herself as ‘a photographer, a writer, a dominatrix and a hedonist, somewhere wherein lies my love for food.’ As you’d expect with those interests, the blog features some great kinky photographs and interesting recipes. You can also read an interview with her on the topic of food and kink at the munchies site.
