Online Skills

Yesterday’s post had me angsty with not having played recently. For me it’s mainly a sense of frustration. For sex workers the current situation is obviously a much more serious one. Daddy An Li was featured in a KQED recent article talking about how she’s been dealing with it. I was kind of surprised to read this comment…

Also, An Li said many of her clients are older men. “They’re a little bit more reticent to learning online skills,” she said. “Which is fine. At some point, they’re going to have to learn depending on how long this quarantine situation goes on for.”

That a lot of her clients are older men isn’t surprising, but the lack of online skills certainly is. Isn’t everyone savvy with skyping, zooming and messaging these days? Even my parents – both in their mid-70’s – can set-up video conferencing now, and that’s just to chat about gardening and the weather. I’d assume the idea of a kinky online session with An Li would be far more motivating to a frustrated older gentleman client.

This image is from this blog post where An Li talks about some of the options she offers during the present coronavirus crisis. You can also follow her on twitter.

Angsty

I’m beginning to get somewhat angsty and to crave human contact. Preferably of the painful kind. That’s strange for me, as I’m generally a very self-contained person and independent person. Yet right now I’d love to be hugged, bitten, pinched and sat upon. I mean those are always fun things, but I don’t typically crave them in the same way I do right now.

Shiny!

I went for a drive today. There’s only so long I can stand staring at the same view. I figured if I could combine a grocery run with a spin around Lake Washington it’d count for practical and mental health purposes. Plus, I was  socially distancing myself from people very effectively at many mph.

The image below is Natalie Mars, looking particularly fabulous in a shiny latex catsuit and with her own bike. There’s something very sexy about a woman on a motorcycle, particularly a fast sports bike like this one. It’s a heady blend of power, control and risk. A modern car coddles its driver, automating almost everything. In contrast, there’s no hiding on a bike. It’s the rider versus the world.

A New Take on the Easter Bunny

Personally I don’t celebrate Easter. I’ve no children and no belief in God. However, if I did decide to partake, then having a lady deliver me an Easter egg stuffed with pornography would be a pretty good starting point. That was the plan of a woman in Florida who allegedly wanted to educate people. You’d think people would be grateful for some entertainment while they’re stuck in quarantine at home but apparently that’s not the case, as she’s now been arrested.

There’s not a lot of good femdom themed Easter imagery, with the possible exception of the bizzare but entertaining photograph I posted last year.  For this years post I’ll go with an image Mrs Athena De Sade – very much from Belgium and not Florida  – shared on her twitter feed. This is her with a beautiful but subdued submissive bunny.

You can see more from Mistress Athena on her website. She primarily sessions from an Antwerp location.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

More artwork for today’s post, this time it’s a fantastic Western themed watercolor by ALD, originally posted in this tweet. I’m a huge fan of the movie referenced in the tweet, and just love this piece. The cheroot she’s lighting is a nice call back to Eastwood’s character and his frequent use of one in those movies. I hope we’ll see more of this women with no name in future pieces from ALD.

Things to be grateful for

The latest War and Peas comic captures a fun looking take on a quarantine situation. Reading, eating, masturbating and kinky board games seems like a pretty good combo to me.

It makes me wonder how many people have taken this opportunity to do longer term scenes. On one hand it seems like the perfect setup, given isolation and no chance of surprise guests. On the other hand, the necessary ingredients will be hard to come by. You need the right people together, the appropriate dynamic, the emotional stability, the space to do it in and the right equipment. Personally I’d love to shut my brain off and use kink to space out of this world for a few days. I just lack approximately all of those necessary ingredients.

Honor Blackman

I was sad to read of the passing of Honor Blackman. I’m sure for a good number of my readers her role as the powerful leather clad Cathy Gale was a big influence on their early femdom fantasies. The original Avengers series was way before my time, but I remember catching re-runs in the 80’s and being captivated by her. Seeing her as the feisty but ludicrously named Pussy Galore in Goldfinger created a similar reaction.

I was originally going to feature a photograph of her in the classic Avengers leather suit. Then I stumbled on the beautiful shot below. Thanks for everything Honor.

Pony Patronage

At the start of the year I posted artwork from Michael Manning that was commissioned by @DrPonyBatBond, featuring him with Mistress Michelle Lacy. I mentioned at the time how happy it made me to see someone actually paying an artist to celebrate their kinks and relationships. What I hadn’t realized was that this was not a first. DrPonyBatBond reached out to me and mentioned that the Michael Manning illustration was just one of over sixty similarly themed pieces that he’s commissioned over the last few years!

If you’re interested in seeing more of the pieces and hearing the background to them from DrPonyBatBond and Mistress Michelle Lacy, then Dirk Hooper has an excellent article on them here. It features more of the art and interviews with the two featured subjects. They’re a nice example of how a professional relationship can, in some cases, be a rich and nuanced one.

There are so many fun illustrations in the article that it’s hard to pick a favorite to feature, but this one by Moon Eater did catch my eye. It has a nice blend of the playful and the serious.

Creatively Frugal

It’s always fun to play with fancy equipment and high end toys. I’ve written about those kind of scenes often enough over the years.  However, there’s also a lot of pleasure to be had with pervertibles – regular household objects perverted into kinky use. Anyone can get their freak on with a cupboard full of ropes, gags and whips. It takes extra talent to do so with a handful of change and your local dollar store.

Mistress Hinako recently put up a series of posts – here, here and here – showing her rising to exactly that challenge. She uses plastic wrap, rubber tube, clothespins, stockings, sponges and plastic bags to create a very intense look bondage scene. Total cost of materials? Around three dollars.

Mistress Hinako is a Tokyo based pro-domme. Her professional site is here,  her blog is here and her twitter feed here. If you’d like to see video of her bondage work using a much wider variety of equipment, she has a bondage clinic site here.
