A Genoux Esclave

A final post (for the moment) with a vintage femdom artwork theme. This is from a 1935 book – ‘Jim Galding. A Genoux Esclave. Les Editions du Couvre-Feu.‘ The title means ‘Kneeling Slave’, although in this particular illustration it’s more of a lying slave and a hop, skip and a jumping domme.

The artist went by the handle Wighead and there’s more excellent artwork and some discussion on his or her identity here.

Virtuality

This article has some interesting background on how VR porn gets made, including a link to a video on how kink.com shoot their VR scenes. There’s only one vaguely femdom bit, but I was amused by the fact that I recognized the domme immediately and knew what the journalist was about to say.

Personally I think that this area will take off massively when very realistic computer modelling and real-time human animation can be handled on home VR hardware. Then rather than passively look around a scene you’ll be able to interact with it and change it. We’re probably at least two hardware generations away from that – so 4 to 5 years – but I think that’ll be the tipping point for the mass market.

In the meantime VR does lend itself to some niche genres. For example, I imagine giantess fans will have some interesting new experiences. Or really anyone into the ‘looking up at a lady who teases/scolds/insults you’ genre. Femdom clip stores seem full of those films (for example here or here), so there’s clearly a sizable market out there.

LookupNot exactly sure who originally shot this image, but it’s definitely a good example of the kind of scene I’m talking about.

Domina Mea

I was planning to write about the latest English political scandal – featuring a goverment minister and a dominatrix. But frankly, I’m tired and the coverage of the story is too depressing. So maybe I’ll save that for the weekend. In the meantime, I’m going old school with this post.

The artwork below, called Domina Mea, is circa 1930 and by the German artist Rudolf Schlichter. I found it via the Pitt Prickel tumblr. There’s a nice write up on the background of the artist at the ‘he stoops to worship’ blog. Unsurprisingly his work was banned by the Nazi’s as degenerate.

Caveat venditor

Top tip of the day: If an unknown person on the internet offers you a large sum of money for doing very little, it’s probably certainly a scam. The latest example of this comes to us from New Zealand, where women were offered thousands of dollars for photographs of their hands and feet. Unsurprisingly the money never showed up, but some of the photographs did make it to a fetish website.

Clearly the people that did this are assholes of the first order. Taking advantage of people is a shitty thing to do. However, if the worst thing that happens to you is untraceable foot photographs showing up on a fetish site, then maybe you can treat it as an important life lesson that was cheaply learned. Whoever you’re dealing with, whether it’s selling a sofa on craiglists or photographs for drooling internet perverts, always get the money up front.

I particularly enjoyed the byline to the news article – “Internet watchdog warns ears and elbows could be next as young people are being duped into sending pictures of body parts to fetish websites.” That makes it sound like there’s some bizarre hierarchy of perversion. Watch out kids, after ears and elbows, it’s just a small step to the serious hard pornography of armpit hair and nasal passages. These perverts are working their way around all parts of the body and they must be stopped!

Only a handful of people were scammed, so it’s probably the work of a single maladjusted fetishist with nothing but a gmail account and zero social skills. Somebody should tell the internet watchdog that pretty much by definition fetishists tend to have highly focused interests. They’re not going to switch their sexual attention from feet to ears just because their scam got spotted.

FetishGiven this post has been all about fetishes, you’ll have to excuse me if I indulge one of mine with this image. I’m always a sucker for an elegant and well dressed lady in a tight pair of boots.

Camouflage

I wonder who thought this was a good look to go for? Did they start with the outfit and then go looking for a matching chair, or vice-versa? Or was the outfit and the setting all just a lucky coincidence? Are there people out there with a leopard skin fetish? Or are they aiming for the camouflage fetish market? Does she curl up, concealed on the chair, waiting for her moment to leap out with claws unsheathed? Have many unsuspecting male submissives been surprised and mauled by that most dangerous of predators – the indoor leopard domme?

Miss HybridI’m not sure who this attractive but somewhat oddly attired lady is. I’d guess it’s from a more commercial and conventional porn shot than a femdom one, but that’s only a hunch.

Updated : Thanks to my wise and learned readers (specifically Simon) I can now attribute this to the Miss Hybrid site. I was partially wrong about it being from a conventional porn shot, as Miss Hybrid’s material definitely has a fetish and femdom slant, but there’s more regular sexual activity than the standard femdom clips. Also, for anyone reading this and wondering how I could be such an idiot as to miss the big logo on the image – I changed the image. The original had the logo chopped off, but thanks to the attribution I managed to find the original version with logo intact.

There’s always something new to learn

I thought that after years of writing this blog and hanging out on kinky sites, that I’d seen pretty much every kink there was. In hindsight that seems somewhat naive, given the complexity of human sexuality. For example, I’d never heard of a kink based on being a human statue, yet here we have it. Given I’ve featured people being lamps in the past, I guess being a statue isn’t so strange. If you’re into CFNM and mental bondage then it makes some sort of sense.

I used to think that cleaning up after hot wax play was the most annoying post-session chore, but this body paint is probably worse. At least he’s indoors and doesn’t have to worry about pigeons.

Statue1I found this shot at the Brat Princess tumblr (you can see another shot from the same scene here). There’s no watermark, but I assume it’s from the original Brat Princess site.

Sleepy Paul

Here’s my final celebrity themed post for the moment. This time it’s Paul Giamatti and the incident in question is a fictional one from his latest showtime series Billions. He plays a kinky attorney who enjoys being dominated by his wife (played by Maggie Siff). I personally haven’t watched it but, according to this article, it sounds like they’re treating the kinky dynamic in a more mature and respectful fashion than usual. Normally a domme is just thrown in mid-season to spice a series up and provide an excuse to feature a hot woman in leather.

You can watch the opening scene from the series here. There’s bondage, torture and the strong suggestion of a golden shower. Not exactly your standard opening to a Wall Street drama. I was also amused to read that Paul Giamatti was tied up by a specialist rigger and reacted by falling asleep. That’s not a rare reaction to bondage, as it can create a soothing and protected sensation. However, I wouldn’t have expected an actor dealing with a script and a film crew to have responded quite so strongly to the bondage.

A Royal Warrant

Cheap and cheesy BDSM kits are nothing new. They pop up in sex shops all the time, typically with some weak restraints, a blindfold and a limp flogger. A new kit called ‘Prince and I’ may not improve much on the typical contents, but the marketing is at least innovative. Not many sex toys get associated with royalty, but Vegas domme Carrie Royale has managed to turn 15 minutes of fame into a sales gimmick and tabloid headlines. I’m sure the Buckingham Palace lawyers are putting together the ‘cease and desist’ letters at this very minute, but personally I’m a fan of her approach. The British royal family is an expensive waste of space. The least they can do is provide some valuable marketing material for a domme with a good eye for publicity.

One other thing in common between royalty and dommes (at least of the professional kind) is the love of a good throne. They crop up in dungeons and femdom porn all the time. Here’s Mistress Ella Kross in a particularly ornate one. While a throne may be common, not many dommes can boast a battle axe on the wall behind it.

EllaKrossI should add that the idea of using royalty to sell products is certainly not a new one. It might seem anachronistic but lots of British products carry a Royal Warrant, meaning that they’re supplied to a royal personage. The bottle of HP sauce in my cupboard has the fact that it’s “By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen” emblazoned around its neck. In the list of goods carrying the British Royal family warrant the only sexual one I can find is for lingerie. Dungeon furniture and torture equipment would actually be appropriate for an old aristocratic family, but sadly I don’t see any of that.

AVN Season (final)

There might have been little attention paid to kink and BDSM at AVN, but one of the winners does have a femdom connection. Riley Reid, who picked up the Female Performer of the Year award, has done a number of shoots for Femdom Empire. She’s one of a growing number of conventional porn stars who seem to be happy to cross over and shoot kink.

Years ago there was a fairly clear distinction between people who shot BDSM and those who shot conventional porn. That now seems to be breaking down. Partly I suspect that’s down to the growth of BDSM porn and the larger professional studios shooting it. However, I’d guess that an even larger factor might be how often regular sex (PIV, oral, anal, etc.) now gets mixed in with more hardcore bondage and pain shots. I think that mixture puts off a lot of potential BDSM performers, particularly dommes. I’ve talked to several who wouldn’t shoot for kink.com anymore because sex in a femdom scene was considered part of the shoot. Instead they decided either to not shoot or stick to their own clipstores where they had more control. This in turn opens up opportunities for regular porn stars who don’t mind mixing sex and kink. So it has been less a simple removal of barriers, and more an expansion of regular porn and retreat of BDSM specialists.

Riley ReidHere is the aforementioned Riley Reid demonstrating some of the skills and attributes that made her female performer of the year. I hope the owner of this pair of testicles feels that he contributed in some small (painful) way to her ultimate success. This was obviously shot for Femdom Empire.

International Fetish Day

Apparently International Fetish Day is a thing and I just missed it. It’s the third Friday of the year, which seems a rather silly scheduling decision, as there’s no memorable date. Are they trying to overlap it was workplace casual Friday’s? Maybe forget the jeans and t-shirt and turn up in your gimpsuit?

Fashion and horological issues aside, there’s a good article on it at The Debrief. It talks about kink, fetish and queerness in a very open and approachable manner. It’s the kind of mainstream article that can help demystify kink and encourage discussion.

Personally, I’m more of a masochist and power exchange kinkster than a fetishist. That said, if I was going to pick out a few specific things that push my fetish buttons, this image would be a good starting point. There are boots, leather gloves, facesitting, a happy lady and red wine. Those last two may not typically be listed as a fetish, but all five of them make me smile.
