Whips, boots and marks

I normally dislike shots featuring a domme reduced to just her boots or a torso. Faces and a sense of connection between participants is normally important to me. Yet there are always exceptions, and this is one of them. The composition fits both his perspective and the psychology of the scene.

I love the marks on his back, the simplicity of the room and the arrayed selection of implements.  I like to imagine he has been told to maintain that position no matter what, and she has been prowling around him, picking and choosing whips as her whims take her. For almost an hour now the only sound has been her heels, his stifled cries and the occasional self satisfied sigh from her as she inspects the whip marks.

I’m afraid I don’t know the original source for this. You see a larger version on the tumblr that originally posted it.

A big problem

After yesterday’s post on Perfect Villainess – a commercial site targeting a specific porn niche – it seemed appropriate to link to a recent post of Mistress T’s. In it she writes about kinks she will no longer cover. One of those was the giantess fetish, about which she said…

I used to love this fetish. The vids were fun to create, but 2 things happened: 1. Piracy. The market for Giantess is small so they ban together to share content really effectively. 1 guy buys the vid & shares it with hundreds of others which means that I don’t make enough money off the vid ….. So I don’t film them anymore

Piracy often gets talked about in the abstract. People understand it hurts content providers, but the effect is intangible to them. Here’s a very clear illustration of its impact on all sides of the equation. A niche fetish with a small number of fans lost a top creator who loved making videos for them. Good job guys. Not only do existing creators quit, but there’s the hidden cost of discouraging new entrants to the market.

I doubt posts like this are going to stop piracy dead in its tracks but, if you do consume kinky commercial material via the various tube and torrent sites, maybe consider a Christmas present to yourself of a subscription in a site (or two) that you particularly like? Or if there’s a domme that really pushes your buttons, buy some of her online clips? Maybe put something back into the system for all those creators who have given you many happy moments?

I’m afraid I don’t know the name of this artist. There’s a handful of his or her drawings floating around online – all in a similar style and feature the giantess fetish. Unfortunately I’ve not seen them pulled together in a single gallery with a useful attribution. Obviously if you can help me out there, please leave a comment.

Update: Thanks to an expert on tracking down image provenance, I can now attribute the image to the artist Enka Boots. You can see more of the artists work here.

Blogroll update

I figured we were due an refresh of my blogroll. It has been a long time since I last touched it. Sites that were no longer updating have been purged. I was very sad to see some of the go, particularly D of Dumb Domme, but at some point I have to assume they’re never coming back.

I’ve added the following sites to the blogroll:

Hopefully there should be one or two things in there for everyone to enjoy. I’ve no idea what’s an appropriate image to match with a blogroll update, so I’m just going to pick something I like. I believe this is Mistress Madeline asserting her authority via the boot and the hand.

Healsluts

It’s a well known fact that people will figure out ways to inject sex and kink into almost any possible situation. If people like X and people like sex, so how much better would X+sex be?

The latest example of this is a type of online videogame known as shooters and, as this article explains, one specific one known as Overwatch. Characters typically play as either destructive ‘tanks’ (taking and dishing out damage) or healers (helping the tanks stay alive). So some kinky gamers have created a D/s dynamic with the tanks as dommes and the healers as service submissives. The game is still played in the normal way as a shooter, but the dynamic is overlaid onto the player interactions. The article makes some pretty broad and possibly inaccurate generalizations about BDSM terminology, but it seems to capture the spirit of the thing pretty well.

Personally I’m not much of a fan of multi-player shooters. I prefer games with complex plots that I can play with a glass of wine in hand. But I do admire the ingenuity of people who liked the game and figured out how to mix D/s into it.

Unfortunately not ever combination of D/s and videogames is so ingenious. This is an incredibly dumb advert from the 90’s. It’s from the time when the people developing the ads had no idea about games, and therefore simply threw together whatever random elements they thought would appeal to teenage boys.

Painted Ladies

Miss Pearl has a thoughtful post on the way kink.com treats femdom as a separate thing from BDSM in general. It raises an interesting point that potentially reflects a lot of underlying assumptions people hold about femdom.

Now with the thoughtfulness for the day contracted out to Miss Pearl, allow me to take conversation down several notches and tackle a silly pet peeve of mine on kink.com – makeup. Specifically, the makeup used on the dommes. It’s like they’ve borrowed Homer’s makeup shotgun. I realize this is probably not the biggest problem facing femdom erotica, but what the hell, I feel the urge to vent.

For example, consider Mistress Madeline, who looks stunning in shots like this and this. So what would possess Divine Bitches to go with this look? Mistress T is another great example. She has an amazing classical natural beauty, as demonstrated in this kind of shot. So why the harsh makeup of the shots below? I want my domme to be severe when waving her whip, not when brandishing her lippy.

A Genoux Esclave

A final post (for the moment) with a vintage femdom artwork theme. This is from a 1935 book – ‘Jim Galding. A Genoux Esclave. Les Editions du Couvre-Feu.‘ The title means ‘Kneeling Slave’, although in this particular illustration it’s more of a lying slave and a hop, skip and a jumping domme.

The artist went by the handle Wighead and there’s more excellent artwork and some discussion on his or her identity here.

Virtuality

This article has some interesting background on how VR porn gets made, including a link to a video on how kink.com shoot their VR scenes. There’s only one vaguely femdom bit, but I was amused by the fact that I recognized the domme immediately and knew what the journalist was about to say.

Personally I think that this area will take off massively when very realistic computer modelling and real-time human animation can be handled on home VR hardware. Then rather than passively look around a scene you’ll be able to interact with it and change it. We’re probably at least two hardware generations away from that – so 4 to 5 years – but I think that’ll be the tipping point for the mass market.

In the meantime VR does lend itself to some niche genres. For example, I imagine giantess fans will have some interesting new experiences. Or really anyone into the ‘looking up at a lady who teases/scolds/insults you’ genre. Femdom clip stores seem full of those films (for example here or here), so there’s clearly a sizable market out there.

LookupNot exactly sure who originally shot this image, but it’s definitely a good example of the kind of scene I’m talking about.

Domina Mea

I was planning to write about the latest English political scandal – featuring a goverment minister and a dominatrix. But frankly, I’m tired and the coverage of the story is too depressing. So maybe I’ll save that for the weekend. In the meantime, I’m going old school with this post.

The artwork below, called Domina Mea, is circa 1930 and by the German artist Rudolf Schlichter. I found it via the Pitt Prickel tumblr. There’s a nice write up on the background of the artist at the ‘he stoops to worship’ blog. Unsurprisingly his work was banned by the Nazi’s as degenerate.

Caveat venditor

Top tip of the day: If an unknown person on the internet offers you a large sum of money for doing very little, it’s probably certainly a scam. The latest example of this comes to us from New Zealand, where women were offered thousands of dollars for photographs of their hands and feet. Unsurprisingly the money never showed up, but some of the photographs did make it to a fetish website.

Clearly the people that did this are assholes of the first order. Taking advantage of people is a shitty thing to do. However, if the worst thing that happens to you is untraceable foot photographs showing up on a fetish site, then maybe you can treat it as an important life lesson that was cheaply learned. Whoever you’re dealing with, whether it’s selling a sofa on craiglists or photographs for drooling internet perverts, always get the money up front.

I particularly enjoyed the byline to the news article – “Internet watchdog warns ears and elbows could be next as young people are being duped into sending pictures of body parts to fetish websites.” That makes it sound like there’s some bizarre hierarchy of perversion. Watch out kids, after ears and elbows, it’s just a small step to the serious hard pornography of armpit hair and nasal passages. These perverts are working their way around all parts of the body and they must be stopped!

Only a handful of people were scammed, so it’s probably the work of a single maladjusted fetishist with nothing but a gmail account and zero social skills. Somebody should tell the internet watchdog that pretty much by definition fetishists tend to have highly focused interests. They’re not going to switch their sexual attention from feet to ears just because their scam got spotted.

FetishGiven this post has been all about fetishes, you’ll have to excuse me if I indulge one of mine with this image. I’m always a sucker for an elegant and well dressed lady in a tight pair of boots.

Camouflage

I wonder who thought this was a good look to go for? Did they start with the outfit and then go looking for a matching chair, or vice-versa? Or was the outfit and the setting all just a lucky coincidence? Are there people out there with a leopard skin fetish? Or are they aiming for the camouflage fetish market? Does she curl up, concealed on the chair, waiting for her moment to leap out with claws unsheathed? Have many unsuspecting male submissives been surprised and mauled by that most dangerous of predators – the indoor leopard domme?

Miss HybridI’m not sure who this attractive but somewhat oddly attired lady is. I’d guess it’s from a more commercial and conventional porn shot than a femdom one, but that’s only a hunch.

Updated : Thanks to my wise and learned readers (specifically Simon) I can now attribute this to the Miss Hybrid site. I was partially wrong about it being from a conventional porn shot, as Miss Hybrid’s material definitely has a fetish and femdom slant, but there’s more regular sexual activity than the standard femdom clips. Also, for anyone reading this and wondering how I could be such an idiot as to miss the big logo on the image – I changed the image. The original had the logo chopped off, but thanks to the attribution I managed to find the original version with logo intact.
