Baton’s Bastinado on a Submissive’s Secured Soles

Bastinado is one of those things that doesn’t seem to scary until you try it, at which point it rapidly shifts into the horribly fucked up and disturbing category. It’s pretty much the opposite of something like sounding. That looks scary, but when you eventually do find someone to stick a metal rod down your urethra, it’s actually fine. Almost pleasant even. That’s definitely not the case with foot punishment.

Beatings on the ass or thighs can be very painful, but there’s something simple about them. Lots of muscle, thick bones and layers of fat. In contrast the foot has 26 small bones and 33 joints all packed into a relatively small space. That creates a complex series of nerve ending packed surfaces, where the sensations can vary dramatically from blow to blow. Whenever my feet are beaten I always have the vision of little bones cracking and breaking, which frankly freaks me out. Of course the human body is a lot tougher than it looks, and no sane scene will ever get anywhere that kind of point. Feet can absorb a lot of punishment. Unfortunately my imagination refuses to believe that. Stupid imagination .

This image features Mistress Baton and was taken from this tweet. The little bit of tape fixing his big toes together is a particularly devilish touch. If you’d like to enjoy a beating from Mistress Baton in person, then her tour schedule is here.

Sweet Smooshing

I hadn’t intended to do another Valentine Day themed post, but somehow these romantic fireside photographs of a ‘Happy Valentines’ cake getting smooshed were too fun not to feature. I’m not really a fan of food play or feet, but this made me smile. Possibly I need more frosting in my life. The lady doing the smooshing is Madame Ingrid, a Pittsburgh based pro-domme.  You can see other shots from the sequence in this tweet.

If the cake play isn’t doing it for you, then check out this Vice article on Valentines Day for Doms and Subs.  It interviews a variety of kinky people about what expressions of love and romance means to them. Oddly enough, licking dessert from your Doms feet doesn’t feature in it anywhere.

Foot Fetish Fail

I’m continuing my celebrity femdom theme with this shot. I think it’s fair to say that Matt LeBlanc does not have a foot fetish. Many people, faced with Shalom Harlow’s dainty pinkies in a high heeled shoe, would have a smile on their face and only one focus for their eyes. Matt looks like he can’t wait for the photographer to be done so he can get away.

This was shot for Vogue by Arthur Elgort back in 1997. I can’t believe this shot is over 20 years old. I found it on labstrakt’s tumblr.

Shoe Fitting

Fetishism and repression always seem to go together. The more forbidden or subversive something is, the greater the thrill.

Take for example this Victorian illustration (found via the Whores of Yore twitter) of what I assume is a device for privacy when fitting shoes. I guess it’s supposed to separate the lady from the process of measuring and fitting the shoe, and hence make it a more mechanical and impersonal act. In actual fact it’s a foot fetishists dream. The gentleman involved is even sporting a lascivious grin.

It looks like the top of the device has some sort of crank system and the panel has a split across the middle. So does it separate and then close around her foot once it’s in the hole? If so, it’s even kinkier than it looks at first glance. It’s device bondage crossed with foot fetishism.

The barter economy

Dan Savage had a letter from a lady considering taking on a cleaning and housework slave in return for some foot fetish play. She’s concerned about the protocol for clearing it with her roommates. I hope it works out for her, but I suspect she’ll have more problems than explaining the naked guy with the dustpan and brush. I’ve heard very few dommes report success on these arrangements, as against a great many complaining about guys who do a terrible job of cleaning and nag constantly for more play. The submissives love the concept initially, but quickly realize that scrubbing floors and cleaning toilets to a decent standard is hard work. As soon as they realize the domme isn’t planning to stand over them in full fetish gear and micromanage the situation, their interest wanes rapidly.

Maybe I’m being unfair and the failures are just more widely reported than the successes. Anyone out there have first hand experience of this kind of arrangement working well? I have noticed Mistress Darcy regularly recruiting slaves to run facets of her empire (for example here and here). She hasn’t written much on the success (or not) of her applicants, but the fact she continues to use that process suggests some value comes from it.

I’ll finish with a nice image of someone both getting some foot fetish action and making himself useful. I’m afraid I’ve no source for this.

Fun with Feet

This’ll be a short post. I flew back to Seattle tonight after a very enjoyably but tiring weekend in Vegas. Unpacking awaits. In the meantime, I’ll keep the feet theme going from the last post. I don’t feature a lot of foot fetish stuff, as it’s not my kink, and it’s hard to find broadly appealing shots. Endless close-ups of high heels and men licking them get kind of dull. The shot below caught my eye for it’s playfulness.

I believe this is from a mainstream Brazilian series called A Regra do Jogo (English: Rules of The Game). From a Google translation: Giovanna Antonelli has invaded Alexander Nero’s party and demanded he be her sexual slave. Sounds fair to me.

Twitter Tantrum

Amazingly, while I was posting yesterday about the kinky T-Mobile Ads, Verizon and T-Mobile were getting to a ridiculous twitter feud over them. It ended up getting covered in a whole bunch of places, for example here and here. Some people even got upset with Verizon’s line that “Unfortunately no one will hear your safe word if you’re on @Tmobile“. Personally I thought that was kind of funny. Not sure how you get offended by it.

There has been a lot of controversy in the US in recent years over rulings treating corporations as people. Perhaps those opposed to that have been going about it the wrong way. These corporations are acting like people – specifically petulant teenagers on social media. So they should be able to get involved in politics, but only with the allowance they earn from cutting the lawn and taking out our garbage. And if they don’t behave themselves, we’ll ground them and take away their twitter account.

I believe this is the model Elena Berkova enjoying some quality texting time.

No on Prop 60

A few days ago I wrote that I tried to avoid politics popping up too often on this blog. It turns out I might have lied about that, as I’m about to do another political post. For a change it’s not presidential politics, but local politics. Specifically, Californian politics in the form of proposition 60.

This proposed measure might have achieved something unique in American politics. It mandates that all adult performers would have to wear condoms when filming scenes and, in a country divided on so many other issues, has succeeded in uniting people. Specifically, in uniting people against it. As Casey Calvert points out in this excellent article, both the Californian Republican and the Californian Democratic party are opposed to it. As are adult performers, most major state newspapers, the Libertarian party, Aids Project LA, Equality California, the Transgender Law Center and the San Francisco Aids Foundation. When something has that eclectic a collection of opponents, you know something must be up.

There are a lot of messed up things about the proposed law, but one of the worst seems to be that anyone can sue a producer for a violation. And, given that many performers are also producers (particularly in the femdom genre), that casts a very wide net. Essentially any random weirdo could demand the personal information of anyone they can claim is violating the law. On top of that, if they can win their case, they get 25% of the penalty. Given all the movies already floating around that don’t use condoms, the frequent cross-over between producer/performer, the number of lawyers and weirdo’s in California, and the financial incentives involved, it seems like a recipe for disaster. And that’s not even getting into the issues of practicality and personal rights that Tasha Reign covers in this article.

As a Washington resident I don’t get to vote on this, but I’d urge all my Californian readers to vote no. In the meantime, I’ll use the excuse of mentioning Casey Calvert, to feature this rather lovely shot of her and Ariel X.

This little piggy got stabbed with a wooden skewer

Apologies for the lack of posts in recent days. I’m having to deal with some job related bullshit that’s stressing me out and sucking up a bunch of my time. Pacing around my apartment cursing the name of some asshole from work is not a good mindset for sex blogging.

This post is actually a bit of a cheat, as I’m stealing from a recent Bondage Blog post. I liked it for the smile on the dommes face in the first image and the fact it features one of the rarer forms of sadistic play. Foot worship is a common enough femdom theme, but foot torture doesn’t seem to push as many buttons with people.

Personally I have a love/hate relationship with this activity. On the one hand there’s something inherently funny about it. People messing with my feet makes me laugh. When you’re not actually using them, feet are these weird ticklish appendages stuck at the end of your body. At the same time they can be sensitive as hell. Being beaten there is really intense (as I’ve experienced) and they have all sorts of odd nerves and pressure points. Foot torture is one activity that can shift gears from playful and fun into intense pain very quickly.

Fetishizing race

The Refinery29 site has a thought provoking article on the fetishizing of race – specifically in the case of Asian pro-dommes. It’s written by an Asian women who works in that field, and discusses her conflicted feelings about being able to command a premium price for a fetish she finds damaging.

Anyone who has looked for a pro-domme in a major city will almost have certainly encountered this particular fetishization. Emphasizing physical desirability and attractiveness is a common part of a pro-domme website, and those descriptions can obviously span a huge range of body types and domme styles. However, in my experience there’s only one time race gets featured prominently, and that’s for Asian dommes.

Typically I see three different approaches. Some Asian dommes don’t mention it at all. Some use it as a keyword in a few page titles and descriptions, just enough to trigger a search engine match. Some make it the main selling point and repeatedly emphasize the associated cliches – exotic, cold, cruel and beautiful. From a personal perspective, the more I see race emphasized in a site, the less likely I am to book a session. It’s certainly not down to me to say how a pro-domme should conduct or market her business. I just dislike the idea of being thought of as the kind of guy that would be attracted to that type of racial fetishization. Even if the domme seemed like an interesting person to play with, I really don’t want to be perceived as the middle aged, middle class white guy who got pulled in by a racial stereotype.

The two images below are taken from the Fetish Fortress – a NYC house that specializes in Asian dommes and markets themselves as such. They feature Mistresses Jung, Choi, & Ree fooling around and having fun with feet.
