Have you seen this whip?

I think most kinky people have a favorite toy. It might be the one that pushes their buttons perfectly, has sentimental value or is simply something that’s impossible to buy anymore. Nobody wants to lose a toy like that. All that said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone offer a financial reward for the return of a particular implement, much less a $1000 reward.

The toy in question in this case is a rare 15 year old signal whip and the owner is the famous Isabella Sinclaire. She was attending an event called Ellismania in Vegas when it went missing. I’m not really sure what that event is, but based on the photograph below, it seems to involve some sort of fighting ring, women in sexy outfits and Isabella whipping them. What’s not to like? I’m not sure if being whipped was the punishment for losing or the reward for winning. Seems like a no lose type situation either way.

If you were at this event and have any information on her whip, I’m sure she’d be very happy to receive it.

Heatwave

It’s about a bajillion degrees in San Francisco right now. Which seems the perfect excuse to feature this slightly strange but amusing summer themed shot from Mistress Iris. She’s definitely someone who enjoys exploring more unusual themes for her image galleries, as I’ve covered in the past. This is actually a ‘behind the scenes’ image, taken from her twitter feed. January Seraph

I seem to be starting posts these days with an apology. Yesterday it was for a lack of blog activity. Today it’s for a topic that is probably not the kind of thing that most people come here to read, but that I feel is worth addressing. Luckily I’m English, so apologizing comes naturally.

Regular and longtime readers will have seen many past posts featuring January Seraph. For example, here, here, here, here and several others. She even had nice things to say about this blog. Sadly – and that seems a horribly inadequate word in the circumstances – she recently took her own life.

While I didn’t know her personally, I did want to write a post to commemorate her and all she achieved. She was highly talented and obviously contributed a great deal to the femdom community, working as a BDSM educator, artist, film producer, femdom model and pro-domme. She wrote intelligently on kink and it’s hard to browse the femdom tumblr’s without coming across examples of her work. The people who did work with her had many nice things to say. When a friend of hers was sick with cancer I remember her putting a lot of time and effort into raising money for her and helped to care for her. By all accounts she was a very smart, creative and empathetic person who’ll be greatly missed. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

From reports on social media she was suffering from the horribly destructive brain illness of depression. If anyone reading this is suffering in a similar way then please call a local hotline or a national one.

First Time Fun

A lot of people have amusing stories of their kinky firsts. Nerves, naked bodies and subversive sex can lead to humor – in hindsight at least. Marga Gomez’s article entitled ‘My First Time with a Dominatrix‘ is one of those stories, and is a particularly funny and well written example of the genre.

Sadly, her first dominatrix experience doesn’t result in any kinky satisfaction. I can only hope she has managed to get her bondage and spanking itch scratched more effectively since then.

Is it safe?

I seem to have been cursed recently with events that remind me of kinky fun, without any of the actual kinky fun. I wrote about yoga and personal trainers in the last couple of posts. Today featured an appointment with my dental hygienist and her collection of instruments of torture.

There are many things you don’t want to hear from someone poking around in your mouth with a sharp metal pick. The opening line from my hygienist today was right up there with the best of them – “Do you have a high pain tolerance?” That was literally what she started with. I was tempted to tell her that if she tied me to the chair, slapped on some nipple clamps on and whispered how much my screaming excited her, then yes, I definitely did. But I figured nobody needs to have to deal with my weirdness when they’re just trying to do their job. So I put on my brave face, looked her straight in the eye and firmly said “Huh, well, I guess, maybe?”

Still Sick

I’m still fighting off a head cold. No big deal, but it’s definitely slowing me down. What I really need is a caring nurse to look after me, bring me chicken soup and mop my fevered brow. Something like the ladies below. They look like the perfect types to care for a sick patient. I’m sure the long black waterproof aprons and gloves are just part of their regular uniform, and not at all an ominous indicator of the hideous things they might choose to inflict on a patient.

Bum Note

I don’t feature a lot of Femdom/Febsub imagery. That’s partly because as a man I don’t have a great understanding of that dynamic. It’s also partly because most of the images seems so fake and porn-y. Mostly it’s because images of female submission show up everywhere on tumblr and porn sites, and as a femdom blog, I don’t feel it’s an area I need to add to.

Having said all that, let me immediately contradict myself, and share this vintage Ff spanking picture (courtesy of Spanking Blog). It’s from the 1930’s but looks like it could have been shot just last week. The expressions and outfits push all my buttons. I’ll take that teacher’s outfit over a domme bristling with studs and leather any day of the week. Beautiful poses and and a lovely sexy behind.

Spanking during Violin Lesson

This is from Ostra Studios, a Paris based photography studio of the 30’s that was a spin off from Biederer Studios. The two brothers who created both studios were Jewish and died in Auschwitz in 1942. It’s hard to grasp that the human race can produce people of such beauty while simultaneously delivering those that would burn them to death.

Happy puddle

Better Than Life (cont)

In yesterday’s post I talked about VR porn and some of the issues I’d found when trying it out. While there’s room for improvement, it’s undoubtedly a unique experience that’s worth playing with. Most people trying it for the first time – whether they’re looking at adult content or not – come away suprised and impressed.

I thought for this post I’d try and suggest some kinky femdom niches that might fit with the constraints of the current systems. Unfortunately, my kinks don’t really align to the suggestions below, so I could be way off base here. That said, if I was going to suggest who’s likely to get the most out of the current technology cycle, it’d be people into…

Giantesses
Unless you manage to find a domme who has encountered strange radiation from space, this is pretty tough kink to fulfill. However, I think it works great in VR. With a low camera it’s easy to create a sense of being small and insignificant. You can do the same in regular films, but it’s a way more effective technique in 3D and 360 degree vision.
Fetishisation of things like boots, heels, legs, etc.
I found the inability to touch or interact was frustrating, but if you just want to look at something and admire it from different angles, then VR would probably work better than a regular movie.
Humiliation, abuse and teasing.
There’s a significant existing market for POV shots of dommes insulting and teasing the audience sitting ‘at their feet’ (for example). This’d clearly be a lot more compelling an experience with a life size three dimensional domme doing all the sneering. If you want to be a pathetic worm who isn’t fit to speak to or touch your domme, then the lack of interaction or feel wouldn’t be a problem.
Sadists.
This one is a bit of an odd one, but I think there might be a market for videos from the top perspective. As a masochist I get off on the physical sensation of pain. That’s hard to simulate currently in VR. A sadist gets off on the reaction of the masochist, and that can be observed in VR. I found one short flogging clip filmed in 3D from from the dominant POV, and it felt like a very different experience than a regular flogging clip. It put me far more inside the top’s head than normal, which was an odd place for a submissive.

The problem with all these ideas right now is the lack of content available and the lack of consumers with the right equipment willing to purchase it. That’s a catch-22 that can only be solved with time. But if I was a kinky VR porn producers, I’d focus my efforts on those four areas and hope for the best.
